Clan Mother of the Second moon

This tapestry was designed to reflect the teachings in Jamie Sams’ book “The Thirteen Original Clan Mothers.”  Jamie Sams’ gained her wisdom from her grandmother, and it reflects the feminine spirituality based on self-actualization. 

This is the Clan Mother of the 2nd moon, and her sacred colour is grey. This can be seen in the 12 moons which are divided in 4 sets of colours around the body of the tapestry. This Clan Mother is the Guardian of “the remembering “and the art of memory.  Her gift is in the teaching of accessing planetary memory, personal recall and ancient wisdom and knowledge. The lessons that we gain from this Clan Mother are how to Honor the Truth .

When Marybeth envisioned this Clan Mother’s teachings, she envisioned her sitting in a sacred space. She sits amongst the petroglyph that were etched deep into the grandfathers (stone) by medicine people long ago. This Clan Mother listens to the teaching of grandmother spider who tells her about creation and how the stars and earth were evolved. She does not sit alone as there are small creatures who sit with her and share their own understanding of the world in which they live.
